James has owned and run Muirend Pharmacy for over a decade. As superintendent pharmacist and independent prescriber, he is responsible for every clinical service the pharmacy delivers. Muirend has a long history as a teaching pharmacy — James has supervised pre-registration pharmacist trainees through their foundation year, contributing directly to the pipeline of community pharmacists in the west of Scotland. He lives locally and knows the community he serves.

Peter is an independent prescribing pharmacist — qualified to assess, diagnose and prescribe autonomously without a GP referral. He runs private consultations and leads our travel health service, including as the clinician behind Muirend's Yellow Fever Vaccination Centre, one of a small number of designated YFVCs in Scotland.
Seven decades on Clarkston Road
Muirend Pharmacy opened on Clarkston Road in 1955. It was here when the trams ran, here through computerised dispensing, and here through the full transition to clinical pharmacy.
Seven decades later, it's still independent. Still in the same building. Still run by people who live and work in the area.
